A Reflection on 2024
A reflection of our achievements in 2024
As we reach the end of the term, we are reflecting on a year marked by meaningful achievements and initiatives.
The past year has been particularly significant, highlighted by a series of positive Ofsted inspections that demonstrate the trust's commitment to providing effective educational opportunities.
Central to this progress was the trust’s new Director of Education, who joined the team at the start of the calendar year. Under her guidance, Soke Education Trust has organised some fabulous CPD opportunities, featuring education experts like Chris Quigley, Will Hussey & Shannon Doherty. These CPD sessions have helped enhance the skills of the teaching staff and foster a culture of ongoing learning and professional development within the trust. We strongly believe that this focus on staff training is essential for ensuring that teachers are equipped with effective strategies to support their pupils.
The trust also introduced its SET Up sessions, aimed at addressing key areas for school improvement. These sessions have provided staff with practical tools and knowledge to enhance classroom practises and improve pupil outcomes. The collaborative nature of these sessions has strengthened connections between the schools in the trust, promoting a shared approach to educational improvement.
We were pleased that all our Headteachers could attend the National Pupil Premium Conference, where they gained insights and strategies for enhancing attendance and improving educational outcomes for disadvantaged pupils. This focus on equity ensures that all pupils, regardless of their background, have access to quality education and the necessary support to succeed.
Our achievements have also included securing £6.5 million in Condition Improvement Fund bids, which have supported significant upgrades to our school facilities and helped to create safe learning environments for pupils.
The trust’s emphasis on collaboration has extended to our pupils who have taken part activities organised by the Soke Ambassadors. Events such as the Debate Day, the Maths Challenge, and the Soke Olympics have promoted teamwork and healthy competition, allowing our pupils to develop important skills including critical thinking and resilience. All six schools within the trust participated in the Brilliant Schools project. This initiative provided pupils with opportunities to engage in creative and challenging activities, fostering a positive attitude towards learning.
Cathy Carlisle, CEO of Soke Education Trust, shared her thoughts on the trust's progress, stating, "I look back over the year with pride at what we have accomplished together. As a trust, we embody the core value of collaboration and are committed to nurturing the talent of those who work with us. Sharing and embedding or values is vital to becoming a cohesive and mature organisation. I really believe that we are well-positioned to build on our progress next year and ensure that every pupil receives an education that supports their development in a positive and enriching environment.”
Soke Education Trust wishes all our partners a very merry Christmas.
