SET Up to analyse data
As we progress through this academic year, I am pleased to share another great opportunity colleagues have experienced within our Trust. Recently, I conducted a SET UP session for our Early Career Teachers from across the Trust, focusing on the essential aspect of making effective use of data in our schools.
This interactive session provided a comprehensive overview of educational data, equipping our ECTs with practical skills and insights. We examined the various roles of data in our educational framework, including how it can describe pupil attainment, identify learning gaps, predict future progress, and inform planning strategies.
Everyone engaged actively with the session’s content, which addressed the rationale behind target setting, progress tracking, and teacher assessment processes. Through hands-on activities using Insight Tracking reports, they gained experience in analysing attainment and progress data.
It was fantastic to see the level of engagement from everyone as they asked pertinent questions and contributed to discussions. They demonstrated an understanding of the importance of data literacy in their professional development and its potential impact on pupil outcomes.
As the session concluded, it was evident that our ECTs were leaving with valuable insights that would enhance their ability to make informed decisions, tailor their teaching approaches, and better support our pupils' learning journeys.
I am proud of our ECTs’ commitment to their professional growth and their willingness to embrace new tools and methodologies. Their dedication reinforces our Trust's focus on continuous improvement in education.
